People of Neighborhood Resilience Project hello

The Resilience Academy

Posted on August 10, 2025 by kelias1988

This summer we launched the Resilience Academy—a summer day camp program for children from financially disadvantaged families aged 9-13 in Clairton, PA. Learn more about the camp from this video: https://buff.ly/Nqw71Pc
The overall goal of the Resilience Academy is to instill in the children a love of learning. The kids practiced their reading and math skills, worked on arts and crafts, and had time for free play. They also went on field trips to the Clairton library, the Carnegie Science Center, and even the Neighborhood Resilience Project headquarters in the Hill District where they got to spend some time with Father Paul. Finally, they learned about Saint Moses the Black and read a graphic novel about his life.
On July 25th the children officially graduated from the Resilience Academy. We are thrilled that we were able to serve these children and look forward to continuing this work into the future.
