“My favorite part about the Neighborhood Resilience Project is the service—the church service. And the activities we do here. And the food. But other than that, just spending time with people down here, getting to know people. When I come down here, I feel a sigh of relief because I can express how I feel. I can talk to people who I know are gonna support me through anything that I’m going through.

The Neighborhood Resilience Project helped me get through school. It helped me get through a lot of things, to be honest. You know, y’all people here, y’all are like family. To me, that’s why I come because I feel like y’all are more like my family than my whole family, because I could come down here and tell y’all anything.

What it means to me is just being a part of something, volunteering, helping out, and like I said, getting to know everybody, and feeling welcome.”
